LA BARRIERE

Rental holiday accommodation in France. La Barriere is a charming part stone, part half-timbered house, set in the heart of peaceful countryside twixt the villages of Vieuvy and Desertines, near the market town of Gorron. Recently restored to a high standard its central location enables visits to Brittany, Normandy and the Anjou regions. Mayenne, the historic city of Fougeres, the spa resort of Bagnoles-de-l’Orne, the beautiful villages of Ambrieres-les-Vallees and St-Ceneri-le-Gerei (a ‘plus beaux village’) are nearby.

Outside Mayenne but still an easy drive the towns of Angers and Saumur (to the south), and Le Mont St Michel and St Malo (to the west) make enjoyable excursions. Water sports and fishing are available in Ambrieres-les-Vallees.

'Official' travelling times are 4.5hrs from Calais and 1.5hrs from Caen, this does not allow for hold ups that may occur.
